Wavestone Fundation call for projects: protecting the pathways of displaced children
July 3, 2026 · News
In brief
Supporting disadvantaged children since 2009
The Wavestone Corporate Foundation is a major pillar of the firm’s philanthropic commitment. Since its creation in 2009, it has supported more than 280 projects dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children around the world.
The Foundation funds programmes that tackle all forms of poverty and supports initiatives focused on prevention, education and healthcare. By helping associations and foundations develop sustainable projects, it contributes to improving children’s living conditions and creating long-term positive impact.
The 2026/2027 Call for Projects reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to protecting the most vulnerable children and responding to today’s growing humanitarian challenges.
Since its creation, our Fundation has stood by the most vulnerable children, wherever they are. Today, faced with climate change, geopolitical instability and shrinking funding, their situation is deteriorating dramatically. Refusing to accept this as inevitable is a collective responsibility. In line with our CSR commitments, the Wavestone Fundation has chosen to focus its efforts on one urgent priority: concretely and sustainably improving the living conditions of displaced children.
A new call for projects focusing on displaced children
According to UNICEF’s latest data, a record 43.3 million children were living in situations of forced displacement at the end of 2022. These circumstances severely compromise their protection, access to education and access to essential healthcare services.
The 2026/2027 Wavestone Fundation call for projects aims to support initiatives that sustainably improve the health, well-being and future of children affected by political crises, armed conflicts, climate change and environmental disasters.
Particular attention will be given to children aged 0–11. This stage of life is critical for physical, emotional and cognitive development. Displacement during these formative years can have lasting consequences on children’s education, health, safety and identity construction.
These projects may include a range of initiatives, such as:
- Providing psychosocial support to children affected by war, violence, or displacement;
- Protecting unaccompanied minors (identification, safe shelter, legal assistance);
- Ensuring rapid access to education and healthcare (unconditional school enrolment and access to primary healthcare services);
- Preventing trafficking and exploitation (identification of at-risk children, safeguarding measures);
- Preserving family ties (family tracing and reunification);
- Combating discrimination (intercultural mediation and initiatives against xenophobia)
