Delivering sustainable impact together

We are committed to making a positive impact – for our clients, our people, and the world around us

At Wavestone, we place corporate social responsibility at the heart of our company strategy. Fully aware of our impacts, both positive and negative, we actively strive to build a sustainable future. Sustainability is deeply embedded in our identity: we’ve had a formal sustainability strategy since 2011 and have been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2012. As we grow, continuous improvement is central to how we operate.

We are united in making a positive impact, through 3 key commitments

Our clients

A responsible consultancy committed to putting sustainability at the heart of its business

Our People

A committed employer that cultivates a stimulating, healthy and inclusive workplace, where continuous learning is fostered

The world around us

A corporate citizen striving to make a positive impact on the world around us

Our sustainability commitments aren’t abstract ideals, they’re foundational principles shaping how we act every day by embodying our corporate values, The Positive Way. Being a responsible company is as crucial to us as cultivating strong client relationships and delivering robust business performance.

To ensure transparency and tangible progress, we’ve set clear targets aligned with our key commitments for the next three years. Our overall ambition is clear: to consistently rank among the top 5% of best-performing companies in sustainability (based on our ESG ratings by EcoVadis and EthiFinance ESG ratings).

We have defined quantitative targets for each of our three commitments to measure and continuously improve our performance:

For our clients – A responsible consultancy

We’re committed to putting sustainability at the heart of our business, by focusing on:

Client satisfaction is a key part of our business model and sustainability strategy. We believe that building long-term, trust-based relationships is essential to how we work and to the sustainability of our business. Our approach goes beyond service delivery: it’s about the overall experience we offer, from the value we create to how we integrate sustainability into our work.

This mindset has been part of Wavestone for many years. We don’t just see client satisfaction as a metric, but as a way to keep improving and meet increasing client expectations at any time. Our goal is to be the most trusted partner for our clients’ strategic transformations. That’s why we make it a priority to listen to our clients, understand their expectations, and use their feedback to keep moving forward.

For our people – A committed employer

As a people-centric company, our employees are at the centre of everything we do. This is why we mobilize our teams around clear priorities to:

Attracting top talent is essential for our growth as a consultancy. Guided by our recruitment charter, we continuously enhance our efforts to provide candidates with the best possible recruitment experience and foster initiatives to attract more talent.

Following recruitment, our tailored talent management approach aims to unlock the potential of top talent, offering personalized career paths and long-term growth opportunities. With structured and individualized career paths, accessible management, we have created a framework to support each individual’s career progression.

Our Great Place to Work certification in most of our 16 countries worldwide highlights the value of our commitments. Wavestone is also ranked in the Great Place to Work Best Workplaces shortlists in more than 4 countries and on local Lists such as Best Workplaces for Women in France or Best Workplace in Tech in the UK.

A corporate citizen

As a corporate citizen, we are committed to making a positive impact on the world around us. While our consulting activities do generate a carbon footprint, they also provide opportunities to support social initiatives. We have identified two key commitments in this regard:

We aim to minimize the impact of our activities on the environment and engage with our ecosystem in collective action.

Wavestone is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with the Net-Zero Standard of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), supporting the broader objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C as per the Paris Agreement.

Wavestone’s ambitious reduction targets cover all emissions generated (scope 1, 2 and 3):

  • By 2026, Wavestone commits to reducing its GHG emissions by 29% from scope 1&2, and by 40% per employee from scope 3.
  • By 2049, Wavestone commits to reducing its GHG emissions by 90% from scope 1&2 and by 97% per employee from scope 3.

Note: Scopes 1 and 2 cover carbon emissions from the company’s direct activities (such as vehicles or energy used in buildings). Scope 3 refers to other indirect emissions, such as those related to the purchase and use of IT equipment or business travel.

To achieve its targets, Wavestone focuses on several key levers:

  • IT equipment and usage: the company extends the lifespan of digital devices and promotes reuse & repair to minimize electronic waste. In addition, we have defined data storage principles to limit its weight and energy consumption.
  • Business travel: Wavestone encourages virtual meetings, prioritizes low-carbon travel options whenever possible and works to reduce air travel.
  • Offices energy: the company signed renewable electricity contracts wherever possible, implemented energy-saving measures (reducing heating temperature, optimizing lighting…) and integrates sustainability criteria in any office relocation project.
  • Employee training: Wavestone deploys awareness workshops such as the Climate Fresk and local initiatives, provides training on carbon footprint issues through the “Responsible Consulting” learning path, and offers a “carbon calculator” designed to measure the impact of our projects.
  • Responsible purchasing: Wavestone integrates sustainability criteria into procurement, favoring suppliers with strong environmental commitments, and supporting its teams in organizing responsible events with limited carbon emissions.

Planet Tech’Care

Wavestone signed up with Syntec Numérique in October 2020 for the launch of the Planet Tech’Care (opens in a new tab)  platform, which aims to support companies mobilized to integrate digital technology into their environmental strategy and to support training players in the development of responsible digital skills.

Wavestone is a consulting company that intends to stay at the forefront of sustainability performance both with regard to itself and to supporting its clients in this area.
