Les Assises 2026: How CISOs must navigate the AI transformation
October 27, 2026 · News
In brief
- Wavestone participated in Les Assises 2026, a key gathering for cybersecurity decision-makers and industry leaders, which brought together nearly 3,500 participants, including 1,515 invited decision-makers and 187 partner companies.
- As an event partner, Wavestone brought its cybersecurity expertise to the discussions, sharing insights on the key challenges shaping the future of cybersecurity and AI.
- Our experts took the stage for the session “Lead the Shift: How CISOs Must Lead the AI Transformation,” sharing Wavestone’s perspective on the three shifts shaping cybersecurity in the AI era.
Three shifts, one transformation
At Les Assises 2026, one message was clear: as cyber threats accelerate and AI reshapes organizations, CISOs need to move fast to stay ahead. In this context, Wavestone shared its perspective on how security leaders must Lead the Shift, securing the AI transformation while harnessing AI to strengthen cyber capabilities. This means moving on three fronts: Cyber for AI, Cyber against AI and Cyber with AI.
With AI agents spreading across enterprise platforms, the security perimeter is expanding fast, requiring targeted action. To securely embrace AI, organizations must focus on continuously discovering agents, securing their platforms and managing their identities, while preparing for emerging challenges around resilience and open-weight models.
AI is increasingly being used in cyberattacks and will continue to do so. But AI did not change the fundamentals; it changed the speed and depth of attacks. This creates an opportunity to rebuild cyber foundations through targeted workstreams and set a new cyber baseline built on families of indicators and ambitious targets.
Keeping pace with AI requires a deeper transformation of cyber itself, through three maturity stages:
- Acculturation: Use AI to boost productivity and deepen analysis, starting with high-value use cases, such as security architecture reviews, while adapting governance through a Data & AI Office.
- Stand-alone AI: Move beyond isolated use cases to automate broader workflows, with AI platforms embedded into cyber capabilities and connected in a mesh.
- Unified AI: Move toward a transversal AI platform, where agents operate across traditional cyber silos, while humans retain control over critical decisions.
