Alexander Meier
Alexander is part of the Transport, Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Energy business unit, with over 15 years of experience driving technology-enabled business transformation for clients across Europe, the US, and Asia.
Since joining Wavestone, Alexander has grown strategic accounts in Switzerland, including as Account Portfolio Manager for SBB, the firm’s largest Swiss client. He has led complex international transformations across Switzerland, Germany, the United States, China, and the United Kingdom, from large-scale SAP programs to the design of target operating models, combining deep sector knowledge with modern ways of working as a certified SAFe® Program Consultant.
As Partner, Alexander helps shape Wavestone’s Transport, Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Energy market position and invests in developing the next generation of consultants and leaders. A mechanical engineer by training with a Master’s in digital currencies, and a dedicated endurance athlete, he brings discipline, long-term thinking, and measurable impact to every engagement.
Martin Reitberger
Martin leads the Global Technology & Innovation business unit at Wavestone. With over 20 years of experience in consulting, IT, and software development, he combines deep engineering expertise with the commercial discipline to build high-performing technology units.
Martin joined Wavestone in 2023 to take over responsibility for the Technology team in Germany. He went on to co-found the Global Technology & Innovation cross-border business unit with teams across Germany, Switzerland, Poland, and Romania. Through long-term partnerships, he has built strong relationships with key international clients in automotive, energy, and industrial manufacturing.
Together with his team, he brings AI into the software development lifecycle, from architecture through delivery, as well as into client solutions. His focus going forward: scaling our work in sovereign AI and cloud-native software engineering, supporting European companies in regulated industries to modernize software delivery without compromising data sovereignty.
Jonathan Schlaeger
Jonathan is co-lead of the German Cybersecurity team at Wavestone. Drawing on extensive experience across industries ranging from finance to defense, and with strong expertise in governance, risk and compliance, he supports clients in complex cybersecurity transformations.
Since joining Wavestone in 2023, he has contributed to the development of the Cybersecurity team, which now brings together a strong team of around 60 colleagues. During his time at Wavestone, Jonathan has led multiple complex projects, including global initiatives in collaboration with teams from France and the US.
Jonathan also actively contributes to shaping the cybersecurity landscape in Germany, whether through executive training, as a partner to the Federal Office for Information Security, or as a member of the Cybersecurity Committee of the Economic Council in Germany.
Associate Partners
Dr. Bernhard Barth
Bernhard is an experienced consultant with more than ten years of experience across the automotive and industrial sectors, complemented by project work in additional industries. Over the past five years, he has specialized in product security.
He holds a PhD in mathematics, combining strong analytical thinking with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset. Since joining Wavestone in 2019, Bernhard has built a broad foundation across IT projects, process optimization, and product management before shifting his focus to product security in 2021. Since 2024, he has been driving the development of operational technology security capabilities within Wavestone, contributing to the firm’s expansion into industrial environments.
Today, Bernhard focuses on scaling Wavestone’s product security business beyond the automotive sector into industries such as energy, transport, and manufacturing. He supports clients in navigating evolving cybersecurity requirements and in translating regulatory demands into actionable, value-driven solutions.
His deep knowledge of cybersecurity and architecture is key to the delivery of strategic engagements on Zero Trust programs, API & Microservices architecture, Extended Enterprise initiatives, or Move-to-Cloud programs. Passionate about innovation, he thrives on tackling emerging IAM challenges such as IAM for the Internet of Things, Continuous Access Evaluation, and the intersection of AI and Identity.
Elio Bohner
Elio is a business designer with more than 10 years of experience in life science, retail, and consulting.
Since joining Wavestone in 2021, he has built a versatile Delivery team and established a strong and growing customer base. Companies trust his advice in establishing critical cornerstones within their operating models for service delivery. Known for his solution-oriented approach to integrated care, he connects the healthcare and life science industries by consistently developing operationalized transformation initiatives to accelerate business growth.
He has been instrumental in developing and expanding accounts, including the SAP CCoE at the canton of Berne, SABAG, and Digital Charging Solutions, while leading the PatientStrength initiative to support the healthcare and life science ecosystem. Moreover, he is a core member of internal customer experience initiatives, such as the Wavestone Customer Satisfaction initiative and the CX guild, and remains active in different industry associations and boards.
Christian Bullinger
Christian leads the Internal Audit team at Wavestone Germany. With more than eight years of experience in internal audit, he specializes in audit and advisory engagements and quality assessments of internal audit functions, primarily within the financial services sector, while also supporting cross-industry clients and leading international audit engagements worldwide. He holds a master’s degree in Strategic and International Management.
Since joining Wavestone in 2020, Christian has played a key role in expanding the firm’s internal audit capabilities and has led the team since April 2024. During this time, he successfully scaled the team from three to twelve professionals, established internal audit as a competitive market offering alongside the Big Four firms, and drove the development of strategic service portfolios, including IT audit, ESG audit, and AI audit.
He has significantly expanded the team’s market reach and visibility by leading audit engagements for institutions such as the Canton of Zurich, BNP Paribas, VBL, Talanx, Deutsche Bundesbank, BaFin, and the European Central Bank (ECB), and has taken responsibility for outsourced internal audit functions, serving as the designated contact person toward BaFin.
In addition, Christian has positioned the team as one of Wavestone’s leading AI-driven units, leveraging proprietary solutions such as “WorkplAIce” and supporting the commercialization of AI-based services.
Marcel Flügel
Marcel joined Wavestone in 2022 to focus on public safety & justice within the public sector in Switzerland.
With over 12 years of consulting experience, he combines expertise in digital transformation and public procurement with an entrepreneurial, end-to-end approach from acquisition to delivery.
Marcel has built and expanded the public safety & justice domain at Wavestone, strengthening client relationships across Swiss police forces and public institutions. He also contributes to internal capability building through coaching, training, and methodological development, and actively shapes the market through industry engagement.
He is passionate about further expanding the public safety & justice domain, driving innovative solutions for police and justice organizations, and strengthening Wavestone’s positioning in the Swiss public sector.
Gunar Hänfler
With more than 14 years of consulting experience, including over a decade working with Porsche, Gunar brings a strong focus on steering business-driven IT transformations and enabling sustainable value creation within complex organizational environments.
As the Account Manager for Porsche, he has successfully developed the account into a key account, continuously expanding its footprint and strengthening long-term client relationships. His passion for innovation and growth is reflected in his ability to identify new opportunities, scale initiatives, and build trusted partnerships.
Working at Wavestone, he combines account development with a hands-on delivery mindset, supporting clients in driving end-to-end transformation initiatives. His expertise spans product lifecycle management, data and AI, as well as process optimization.
Jan-Philipp Koch
Jan-Philipp is a banker and holds an MBA in general management. He has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, including 8 years in management and IT consulting, where he has supported clients in process optimization and transformation initiatives across retail and corporate banking, leveraging advanced technologies to deliver sustainable impact.
Since joining Wavestone, JP has taken responsibility for key banking clients, including DZ BANK, Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall, and KfW, while successfully expanding the firm’s footprint by developing major clients such as Finanz Informatik and BNP Paribas Germany.
JP’s focus in client sales lies on strengthening long-term relationships with key banking clients and driving sustainable growth through the identification and realization of new business opportunities. He is recognized for his entrepreneurial mindset and his ability to identify and unlock new opportunities, combining market insight, innovation, and execution strength.
Dr. Daniel Nussbaumer
Daniel manages the cybersecurity market in Switzerland, a role he began two years ago when he joined Wavestone. As the former head of the cybercrime unit at the Zurich Cantonal Police and of a nationwide network of Swiss police forces dedicated to combating cybercrime, Daniel played a key role in tackling cybercrime in Switzerland. With his solid legal background, extensive expertise in business and technology, and many years of leadership experience, he has established himself as a leading figure at the intersection of law and digitalization. Daniel is also a sought-after expert and speaker at national and international level; his regular contributions to specialist publications and conferences underscore his excellent reputation within the industry.
Since moving into the private sector, he has been advising both CISOs and senior management on the prevention, detection, and management of cyber risks, as well as on strengthening their security and governance structures.
Melanie Pfaffinger
With 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 13 years in consulting, Melanie brings a clear focus on transformation, agile delivery, and leadership development, grounded in insurance business administration and systemic coaching.
At Wavestone, she combines deep insurance expertise with a strategic consulting perspective and a strong sense for client impact. She supports complex business and IT transformations in the insurance sector, including experience from transformation projects with Allianz as a client, ranging from agile and AI-driven transformations to governance structures and regular coaching of leaders up to C-level.
As lead for the Insurance Core Platforms team, she develops people, strengthens capabilities, and contributes to Wavestone’s positioning in the insurance market, connecting client needs, transformation experience, and growth opportunities to create sustainable impact.
Dr. Andreas Raab
With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector and over 15 years in consulting, Dr. Andreas F. Raab is a trusted advisor and business builder in energy & smart grid transformation. His expertise spans the intersection of transmission and distribution system operators, where regulatory complexity, digitalization, and infrastructure transformation converge.
Holding a PhD in electrical engineering and computer science, he combines deep energy market expertise with technology, data, and operating model capabilities.
Since joining Wavestone in 2022, he has built scalable business across distribution system operators, transmission system operators, and adjacent energy players – turning regulatory and operational complexity into repeatable offerings, trusted client relationships, and sustainable growth. Today, he leads strategic account development, cross-unit collaboration, and large transformation programs, positioning energy as a strategic growth area for Wavestone.
Carolin Sandmann
Carolin is an experienced S/4HANA transformation project lead with over 9 years of consulting expertise. She combines a strong delivery focus with a deep understanding of complex SAP environments, guiding clients through their digital transformation from strategy to successful implementation.
Since joining Wavestone in 2021, Carolin has built a proven track record across both sales and delivery. She led the successful go-live of the S/4HANA transformation at RhönEnergie and is currently managing a large-scale S/4HANA transformation at Hamburger Energiewerke, strengthening Wavestone’s footprint in the energy sector through long-term client relationships.
Beyond her project work, Carolin developed Wavestone’s business process excellence offering and serves as the key contact for all topics around SAP Signavio and the SAP integrated toolchain. In this role, she helps clients establish process transparency and governance as a foundation for sustainable transformation.
