A global recognition for sustainable AI

At the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Wavestone’s “Wavestone Wavelets” team won the Text-to-Text category of the Resilient AI Challenge. Organized by the Sustainable AI Coalition, the competition recognizes innovative approaches to improving AI efficiency while preserving performance. Selected among international participants from both industry and academia, the team demonstrated that significant resource savings can be achieved without compromising model quality.

Setting a new benchmark for the industry

The significance of this achievement was highlighted by leaders on stage during the ceremony. Mariya Gabriel, former European Commissioner, noted that the winners had done more than secure a prize, they had set a new benchmark for the technology industry. Our team also had the honor to exchange with Mrs. Clara Chappaz, French Ambassador for Digital Affairs and AI, on a conviction we strongly share: more efficient AI can generate a triple dividend: economic, environmental and societal.

Watching our team win the Resilient AI Challenge against a backdrop of cutting-edge robotics and global tech giants was an incredible moment. It proves that Wavestone is not just observing the future of AI, we are actively shaping it.

Turning responsible AI into reality

The team’s solution reduced resource consumption by 45% while maintaining performance levels. During the award ceremony, speakers emphasized that the future of AI will not be defined solely by ever-larger models, but by the ability to create greater impact with fewer resources. This result illustrates how more efficient and accessible AI can help organizations and developers make smarter technology choices while reducing environmental impact.

For Wavestone, this distinction reflects a broader conviction: successful AI transformation must combine innovation, business value and responsibility. Building AI that does more with less is exactly where we want to take our clients next.
