Biography of Dr. Andreas F. Raab
Dr. Andreas F. Raab is an Associate Partner at Wavestone with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector and over 15 years of consulting experience. After studying at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Oklahoma, he earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His background in research, the energy industry, and management consulting enables him to take a holistic approach to the transformation of energy companies, covering regulatory requirements, technology, and operational implementation.
Today, he advises energy suppliers, transmission and distribution system operators, and other infrastructure stakeholders on the transformation of critical energy infrastructures in a market environment shaped by regulation, digitalization, and investment pressure. He combines deep expertise in energy markets and grid infrastructures with technological know-how in data, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
In his role, he is responsible for the strategic development of Wavestone’s Energy & Smart Grid business, the expansion of long-term client relationships, and the management of complex transformation programs. A particular focus of his work is the transition of AI concepts into productive, business-relevant applications. His goal is to help energy companies move beyond pilot projects toward scalable AI adoption within their core business, thereby strengthening their decision-making and execution capabilities in a sustainable way.
