Biography of Jonathan Schlaeger
Jonathan Schläger is a Cyber Security Specialist at Wavestone in Germany and serves as the Co-Leader of the German Cyber Security team. With over ten years of experience in the IT and consulting sectors – including leadership roles at KPMG and RSM – he is an expert in protecting digital assets, risk mitigation, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).
Since joining Wavestone at the beginning of 2023, Jonathan has played a key role in building up the German Cyber Security team. He advises clients from highly regulated sectors, such as the financial and defense industries, and manages complex, large-scale transatlantic projects in close collaboration with teams from France and the US. His deep technical expertise is underscored by specialized certifications, including ISACA’s IT governance certification and the audit methodology competence under Section 8a of the BSI Act (BSIG) for Critical Infrastructures.
Beyond his client engagements, Jonathan is actively involved in the German security landscape: he contributes his expertise as a partner of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and as a member of the Cyber Security Committee of the Economic Council (Wirtschaftsrat), among others. Jonathan holds two Master’s degrees (International Business and Human Decision Science) from Maastricht University.
