Biography of Matthieu Garin

Matthieu Garin has been with Wavestone since 2006, where he has played a central role in building and scaling the firm’s cybersecurity capabilities.

Based in Wavestone’s New York office, Matthieu is a Partner and Global Cybersecurity Practice Leader, overseeing a $150M+ global business and leading a team of more than 1,000 professionals. He works closely with Boards, CEOs, CISOs and executive teams to strengthen cybersecurity and digital resilience.

Matthieu began his career in cybersecurity in 2005 and joined Solucom (now Wavestone) shortly thereafter. A graduate of Télécom SudParis and Télécom Paris, he has held several leadership roles within the firm, including heading the Data Security Department and creating the firm’s cybersecurity incident response team.

Building on nearly two decades of experience, Matthieu has developed deep expertise across cybersecurity strategy, data protection, incident response and security operating models. He has cultivated a strong network of CISOs across Europe and the United States and regularly contributes to industry discussions through conferences and media appearances.

He is particularly focused on the convergence of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, helping organizations adapt to emerging threats and opportunities. Beyond his client work, he is committed to mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and promoting greater diversity within the field.
