Increasing workplace flexibility with mobile modernisation at one of Europe's largest asset management firms

One of Europe’s largest asset managers, recognised their existing mobile email solution, Blackberry for Work, was insufficient for the growing needs of their user base and did not provide the tools and capability for modern flexible working. The decision was made to invest in an O365 focused solution to provide new mobile tooling and to migrate to the new solution following a user centric deployment approach. Wavestone was approached to manage the technical design and migration, as well as the organisational impact of the change.

How did Wavestone help?

Wavestone supported the client by carrying out a complete review of a pilot Intune deployment, including reviewing and updating security policies before executing robust functional and security testing. A phased migration was planned and executed, including extensive support through floor-walking and drop-in centres, engaging with users using various media to get buy-in for the change. The key objective was to minimise impact to the workforce while maximising user adoption.

I wanted to share how impressed I have been with the knowledge, responsiveness and helpful manner of Wavestone…they have exactly the kind of attitude that I’d hoped to see.

The relationship with our Client

Our approach was flexible, responding to the different stages of the engagement; starting off with a small team of two consultants to manage the design and plan the migration in addition to coordinating security policy testing to ensure technical readiness. The team later expanded to four members to actively engage with end-users and to make the service transition seamless.

We gained the trust of users by delivering reliable support, training subject matter experts in each department, and promoted a collaborative culture in the organisation through engaging communications.

Wavestone and the client developed an excellent partnership largely as a result of the adaptability and transparency in Wavestone’s approach.

The results

Wavestone helped 2,000 users migrate to Intune mobile device management in a phased deployment over two months, minimising the impact to business units. As a result, the organisation now has a more secure mobile environment with access to a suite of productivity tools, increasing collaboration and therefore creating a connected workforce.

A key success factor of Wavestone’s approach was the focus on user experience. The security team was involved from the start in policy design and every single change was tested thoroughly to ensure the policies were fit for purpose. Communications and training material were clear, concise and available in several formats, allowing all users to engage no matter what media they prefer.
