On Thursday, January 25, 2022, the consulting firm Wavestone joined the #StOpE initiative, which aims to stop day-to-day sexism in companies by sharing and promoting best practices on the subject. The firm is joining forces with 150 other organizations that have signed up to the initiative, thereby confirming its commitment to equal treatment and diversity for all its candidates and employees.

Taking action against sexism: a major focus of the action plan for gender equality

Wavestone has drawn up an action plan to promote gender equality, increase the representation of women in managerial positions, and foster an inclusive work environment. A campaign to combat sexism was implemented in 2019 with the aim of collectively raising awareness, freeing employees to speak out, and reinforcing a work environment in which each employee is free to pursue their development with peace of mind.

On January 25, 2022, Wavestone signed up to the #StOpE initiative, led by the AFMD (French Association of Diversity Managers), joining the ranks of 150 other signatory companies. The signing of the agreement took place in Paris, in the presence of the AFMD and Patrick Hirigoyen, COO and member of the Wavestone Management Board.

Launched in 2018 by Accor, EY, and L'Oréal, the inter-company initiative to “put an end to “day-to-day” sexism in companies” aims to pool efforts in the fight against day-to-day sexist behaviors and attitudes in companies and to share best practices in that area.

By signing up to this initiative, Wavestone has made a commitment to take action in eight priority areas set out by the #StOpE initiative:

  1. Display and apply a principle of zero tolerance
  2. Inform people to raise awareness of sexist behaviors (actions, words, attitudes) and their impacts
  3. Targeted training on obligations and best practices in the fight against day-to-day sexism
  4. Disseminate educational tools to employees to deal with sexist behavior in the workplace
  5. Encourage all employees to make their contribution, prevent, and identify sexist conduct, and to react to instances of day-to-day sexism
  6. Prevent situations of sexism and provide personalized support to victims, witnesses, and
decision-makers in the reporting and management of sexist conduct
  7. Sanction misconduct and communicate about the associated sanctions
  8. Measure and implement monitoring indicators to adapt the policy of combating day-to-day sexism

“By signing up to this initiative, Wavestone is showing its commitment to this cause. Combating sexism in the workplace is first and foremost a matter for management. Management must set an example and provide unwavering support in the fight against sexism, backed by our HR teams. Our management training program now includes a module dedicated to the subject. Fighting against sexism in the workplace is also everyone's business in our day-to-day behavior,” said Patrick Hirigoyen, COO and member of Wavestone's Management Board.

Wavestone: acting in favor of diversity and creating an inclusive work environment

This commitment to take action against sexism in the workplace, and more broadly to promote gender equality is fully in line with Wavestone's CSR approach, which is based on 5 commitments:

  • Improve client satisfaction and support clients in sustainable performance
  • Promote employee engagement, well-being, and quality-of-life at work
  • Act for diversity, and create an inclusive working environment where everyone is free to be themselves, and has the same opportunity to fulfill their potential
  • Be a corporate citizen that behaves ethically and responsibly
  • Minimize the impact of our activity on the environment

“The firm has undertaken a host of practical initiatives that have reached a large number of employees: e-learning, awareness-raising workshops, a management training module, tools such as the “Taking action against sexism” kit from the High Council for Professional Equality, MOOCs), a whistle-blowing mechanism to anonymously declare any situation of harassment or sexism at work, and more. All of these actions are fully in line with our desire to promote the well-being of our employees and create an inclusive environment,” added Hélène Cambournac, CSR Manager at Wavestone.
